There is always a need for more foster parents in Prince Edward Island; there are children of all ages, abilities, and needs who require placement. Child and Family Services offers many supports to foster parents. For example, both foster parents and children have their own social workers they can speak to if issues arise that are difficult to address in the home.

Information SessionsFor children under the care of the Director of Child Protection, either temporarily or permanently, approved prescription and non-prescription medications are covered under the Children in Care Drug Program.

The Transition Apartments for Youth opened in 2020 and provide support youth between the ages of 18-24, who have either aged out of care or were previously in care at some point in their life.
